Description

A PAIR OF BLACKFEET BEADED CANVAS LEGGING STRIPS

c. 1890

flat-stitched in various shades of glass seed beads, decorated with stepped triangles alternating with arrow points, framed

Lengths: 26 ¼ inches each

Condition Report*: Beadwork in overall good to very good condition. Losses of blue background seed beads including the following: on the left side: approx. 3/4," approx. 3/8," approx. 1-1/2," approx. 1-3/8," approx. 5/8, " approx. 1-3/4," on the right side: approx. 1/16," approx. 1-1/4," approx. 1/8," and approx. 3/4." Loss of stepped triangle beading on left side of approx. 1-2/8." Rust suede lining in very good condition. Frame and glass in very good condition. No apparent restoration.
