A NORTH GERMAN BIEDERMEIER MAHOGANY, KARELIAN BIRCH, EBONIZED AND PAINTED WOOD FITTED JEWELRY BOX, circa 1830

The mahogany temple-form box raised on three stepped plinth, the recessed walls with birch stringing to simulate ashlar blocks, centering double doors to the front and back, full columnar arcade supporting entablature with pediment to front and back, opening to reveal mirrored lid with hidden box, upper removable divided tray with five compartments, above deeper removable recessed welled tray, above shallow removable recessed welled tray, above parquetry inlaid removable board, above square removable divided recessed welled tray, above square parquetry starburst hinged board and two hidden side drawers, the starburst panel revealing a final square removable divided recessed welled tray and two additional hidden side drawers.
