Description
A Napoleon III Gilt Bronze Champlevé Enameled Clock, circa 1870Marks to backplate of mechanism: HP & Co, (Japy Freres Medal)
17-1/4 inches high x 10 inches wide x 7 inches deep (43.8 x 25.4 x 17.8 cm)
The gilt clock surmounted by floral urn embellished with champlevé drapery, rounded Mansard-style roof embellished with champlevé down to case with urn-and-torch finials, lower case with champlevé decoration throughout, neoclassical caryatid mounts flanking central clock face, down to molded stepped base, raised on toupie feet.
Condition Report*:
Scratching to glass cover, some patination of metal, some plate loss near clock face, feet bent and clock does not sit flush, sme sticker residue, otherwise good condition. Mechanism and pendulum with matching serial numbers, lot includes key.
