Polychrome Maya Vase with Pseudo-glyphs

7¾" Tall

The vase is in cylindrical form with a lightly flared lip, interior with smooth slipped surface, the outer wall painted in black, red, and orange with large rectangular black panels, two columns with a serpent headed deity, probably Chac, and the rim with three glyph heads of a serpent headed deity. The vessel is intact, excellent condition, only lightly cleaned and retains strong ancient manganese deposits and surface encrustation.
