Petite Colima Fat Dog

5½" Tall x 9¼" Long

The effigy stands on four legs, the rear with particularly naturalistic and scarce form, the ears perked, diamond shaped incised eyes, and the mouth with a wide grin displaying both rows of teeth incised in square and triangular forms. The dog is squatty and pot bellied, the torso in polished buff beige and the spouted tail and head painted in red. The offering vessel is repaired at the neck and with nice patina and light deposits.
