Inca "Star" Mace in Bronze with Kill Notches

The menacing weapon is cast of bronze in a six pointed 'star' shape and would have been mounted to a long hardwood staff to create a vicious weapon. The piece is, overall, in excellent condition and, very interestingly, on one tine, has a series of intentional ancient grooved lines, eight in a row that were put there by placing a chisel on the spot and firmly striking to create the lines. Beside the large notch row are five thinner, smaller notches, none of which were accidentally caused.
