This beautiful painting called, 'American Bombshell,' is #33 in Greg Hildebrandt's "American Beauties" series. A pacifist by nature, Greg, who is also a veteran, has always struggled with the destruction of war and the reasons why countries choose to enter into such times. Like most Americans, Greg had very strong feelings about 9/11, and when America invaded Iraq in 2003, he was inspired to paint an empowering image for both women and veterans. "American Bombshell" was born of Greg's desire to pay tribute to our military and the women who have become more and more important in military roles, and to encourage our soldiers to, "Go get 'em!"
This is not only a sexy image, but an artistic icon for an ever-changing world. A world that acknowledges the strength, power, and necessity for women who are just as willing to protect and serve as any man.
