A ZIA OR TRIOS POLYCHROME STORAGE JAR
c. 1890

painted in deep orange and black against a white slip, with a broad band enclosing geometric motifs encircling the body, a ring of stylized avian motifs about the neck, banded orange underbody

Provenance:
Purchased by the current owner from Sotheby's, New York, American Indian Art,
November 1988.

Diameter: 9 inches

Condition Report*: In overall fair to good condition.  No breaks or cracks.  One chip, approx. 1/2" in length, on the rim, among a number of smaller dings.  Surface with moderate to heavy wear, including dings and abrasions affecting the painted design.  Fire clouds and moderate soiling.  No apparent restoration.
