A Superb Costa Rican Jade Celt
c. 200 - 600 AD

An axe-god pendant in mottled dark green jade, of thick section with a nice heft; depicting a figure seated cross-legged above the blade, grooved facial features, hands held and relaxed on chest, small drill holes for inlay at crown, eyes, and belt. Drilled through neck for suspension. A superb example of the type. In excellent condition.

Condition Report*: In overall very good to excellent condition.  One scratch on the front; usual wear to the back.  No apparent restoration.
