Description

A PAIR OF SIOUX BEADED HIDE MOCCASINS
c. 1900

sinew sewn and lane-stitched in white-heart red, white, and two shades of blue glass seed beads, each with a pair of stepped chevrons on the vamp, a broad band enclosing geometric motifs encircling the foot, rawhide soles

Lengths: 11 inches each

Condition Report*: In overall very good condition. supple hide. Minor bead loss. One metal cone missing; feathers missing. Coth on cuffs with extensive wear. One small area of superficial loss to surface of sole (moth crazing?) No apparent restoration.
