    A Napoleon III Brass Inlaid Mahogany, Fruitwood, and Burled Citron Cave- a-Liqueur, late 19th century
    18-1/4 h x 25-1/4 w x 9-1/2 d inches (46.4 x 64.1 x 24.1 cm) (case opened, doors extended)

    PROPERTY OF A DISTINGUISHED HOUSTON COLLECTOR

    The cave-a-liqueur having multi-wood veneered case with brass-inlaid scrolled cartouches to top and front lid framed inside string inlay paneling, side doors opening outwards and reverse case comprised of burled citron to exterior, interior fitted with removable deck housing twelve cordials and four decanters, the whole case raised on rounded feet.


    Condition Report*: Age-related cracking and chipping most notably to corners of lid and lower case, inpainting and scattered restorations to veneer, lid does not fully close, cordials do not match in pattern and four appear to be missing, light fleabiting to some cordials, stoppers to two decanters appear to be replacements, presenting well; lot is without key.
