A KIOWA BEADED HIDE AWL CASEc.1880
coiled with beadwork in numerous shades of opaque and translucent beads, decorated with a "flame" pattern, trimmed with long hide fringe wrapped with German silver and metal cones, the suspension strap with bone hairpipes and red glass beads
Length: 22 ½ inches overall
Condition Report*:
In overall very good condition. Hide with usual wear, including moderate soiling. Beading intact and bright. Some movement, possibly a separation of wood, in main body of ornament approx. 2-1/8" from bottom bead. Metal cones intact. Metal tubular beads intact. Top: two bone beads in excellent condition. Three round red beads in excellent condition. No apparent restoration
