A Japanese Lacquered Four-Case Inro with Netsuke, late Edo Period
2-3/8 inches high (6.0 cm) (inro)

The black ground case with depicting rice farmers within a mountainous landscape with houses in takamaki-e with heidatsu details in red, gold and black, fundame lacquer to the interior, cord leading to a carved bone netsuke in the form of an oni's head.
