    Description

    Smithsonite
Kelly Mine (Tri Bullion shaft; Paschal shaft; Traylor shaft; Kelly tunnel)
    Magdalena, Magdalena District, Socorro Co.
    New Mexico, USA

This hefty plate of Smithsonite displays the quintessential "sea-foam" blue-green color so coveted by collectors. The nicely formed botryoidal crystals cover the entire creamy rock matrix. The crystals display amazing luster and form. There is a neat "patch-work" appearance to the face as sections of crystals grew together with linear designation in different colors. It is really quite interesting to view. This is a massive and classic Kelly Mine Smithsonite from the world's most important locality for the variety.
