    Rhodochrosite & Fluorite
Huallapon(Huayllapon) Mine, Pasto Bueno, Pampas District, Pallasca Province, Áncash, Peru

"Sharp red rhodochrosite rhombs up to a little over an inch growing on a small mound of pale green rounded fluorite crystals. ?"
    - Rock H. Currier

Colorado isn't the only place where lovely rhombs of Rhodochrosite occur. High in the thin mountain air of Peru is a mine that disgorged some specimen combinations that Colorado would love to have produced. Perched upon some pale green Fluorite crystals are several Rhodochrosite rhombs of a subtly different hue. Instead of the reddish pink of most other localities, the Huallapon ones are much more of a clean and distinctive pink color that, once seen, cannot be forgotten. Custom acrylic base is included.
