    Description

    Pyromorphite
    Daoping Mine (Tangping Mine)
    Gongcheng Co., Guilin, Guangxi
    China

While this material came to market in 2014, it is conjectured this piece could have been mined as much as a decade prior. The mass of Pyromorphite offers huge crystals with the best saturated "apple green" color for which the deposit is unequaled. This solid grouping is thick, lustrous and translucent, with the incipient hopper growth along the terminations. The stacked crystalline bundle is quite different than a typical common plate with small crystals. Individual crystal lengths reach 1 inch (2.5 cm) on this mineral. Presented on a custom engraved base, this cluster was in the private collection of Robert Lavinsky quite well known for his exceptional taste and collecting of Chinese minerals. This example is unlike any other.
    Measurements: 3.00 x 2.02 x 1.63 inches (7.63 x 5.12 x 4.13 cm)

    Provenance: Ex. Robert Lavinsky Collection
