    Description

    Polished Sandstone Free-Form
    Pinggu-Jixian, Pinggu District
    Beijing
    China

Polished Sandstone is an important stone in the historical Chinese culture. The material became popular due to its resemblance to natural scenery, especially that of mountains. This coveted material is popular among collectors of Philosopher's Stones. This beautiful material was created millions of years ago during the Silurian Period as over time Silica was pressurized into Sandstone with Iron and Manganese inclusions creating distinct banding. This is a top-example, with a "mountainous" pattern, which has been expertly polished all the way around creating a 360-degree offering. The extremely dense specimen is quite large for the variety and displays calming earth tones with bold, undulating dark orange and brown banding. The highly decorative objet d'art will add a natural element to any décor.
    Measurements: 14.57 x 7.87 x 2.76 inches (37.00 x 20.00 x 7.00 cm)
