    Pietersite Box
Stone Source: Nanyang Prefecture, Henan Province, China
    Artist: Konstantin Libman

The decorative lid showcases "dancing" colors found naturally in the uncommon mineral Pietersite. The unique stone is comprised of Tiger's Eye, Hawk's Eye and Jasper, and it possesses the chatoyant characteristic with striking blue flashes. Evident are swirling shades of blues, browns, reds, oranges, yellows and blacks which can almost put the viewer in a trance. When viewed from different angles, this box comes to life. The sides consist of the mineral Gedrite from Russia. The inside is lined with Spanish Cedar and fitted with gold-plated brass hinges. The inside walls and base are made from a variety of black Basalt known as Diabase (Dolerite). This artistic box was handcrafted by master lapidary Konstantin Libman and has artist number "0625" on the bottom. This piece is in pristine condition and comes with a velvet lined presentation box. It has been finished with felt pads on the bottom.
