    NWA 11266 Lunar Meteorite
    Lunar (feldspathic breccia)
Saguia el Hamra, Western Sahara - (27.411°N, 9.845°W)
    Found: 2017

With the 50th Anniversary of the First Man on the Moon, lunar material is certainly 'all the rage' at the moment, and superior examples of meteorites originating from Earth's satellite are indeed something quite special. This specimen represents the MAIN MASS of NWA 11266 and weighs an impressive 194 grams. This wonderfully dimensional piece of the lunar surface is colorful, large, rugged, complex and extremely aesthetic. The feldspathic breccia includes lithified regolith representing the "soil" from the lunar surface. This specimen is highly collectible with all the desirable characteristics and appearance featured in the massive sample. Patches of brownish-black and orangey-red cover the rocky exterior that also exhibits numerous and sizable fragmentary clasts adding further intrigue to this Moon rock.
    Overall Measurements: 3.16 x 1.82 x 1.67 inches (8.02 x 4.62 x 4.25 cm), weighs 194 grams

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
