Clearly Kongsberg and Saxony are not the only places that produce fine collector Native Wire Silvers like this dramatic example from China attests. Out of the Hongda Mine in Shanxi Province, this specimen is a blend of a solid metallic mass and a "hairy" nest of fibrous wires that twist, curve and interplay over the top of this truly remarkable mineral. Presented on a custom engraved acrylic base, this cluster example defies description as it truly does have to be seen to be believed. This is another highly collectible piece featuring wire growth but not from one of the usual suspect localities. Serious collectors will find this an irresistible proposition with an obvious visual dichotomy of strong metal balanced against delicate form.
