    Muonionalusta Meteorite
    Iron, IVA
    Northern Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E)
    Found: 1906

The Muonionalusta Meteorite is likely the oldest meteorite known on the Earth, and the Arctic locality also makes it all the more special. Some examples evidence a crystallized nature like this truly massive, incredible specimen. Not only is this piece, that weighs some 21 kilograms (46 pounds), notable for its colossal size, but the gorgeous metallic space rock features several enormous Troilites as well as some cratering where other large Troilite inclusions once resided. This naturally sculptural example with the giant and unbelievable surreal Troilite masses is amazingly attractive and an outstanding specimen for any serious collection. The brilliant silvery coloration of the striated texture coupled with the immense dark inclusions of the rare mineral is simply incredible. The entire specimen is covered with incredible crystallization patterning, which is an indication if cut and polished would be that of the Widmanstätten patterning. Typical, golden-brown patches of a rusty patina are visible which serve to add contrast and a third hue to the metallic treasure from Northern Sweden.
    Overall Measurements: 11.42 x 9.65 x 5.51 inches (29.00 x 24.50 x 14.00 cm), weighs 20.94 kilograms (46.25 pounds)

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
