Muonionalusta Meteorite and Woolly Mammoth Knife
    Blade, Iron, IVA
    Northern Sweden - (67° 48'N, 23° 6'E)
    Tusk Handle, Mammuthus primigenius
    Alaska, USA

This unparalleled offering is a hand-crafted "fighter" style blade with a solid frame handle. The blade has been meticulously hewn out of a piece of Muonionalusta Meteorite and a piece of U.S. military tank armor! The handle is also crafted of Muonionalusta Meteorite and an inlaid piece of cut and polished Woolly Mammoth Tusk. The meteorite blade measures 6.92 inches (17.6 cm) in length and 1.06 inches (2.7 cm) at the widest point, displaying a stunning Widmanstätten pattern, which is the crisscross design associated with Iron meteorites, near the spine to support the longevity of the very sharp blade. The blade is forge-welded with two steels around the meteorite. The tang is a "takedown" construction, similar to a hidden tang. The knife can be taken apart for maintenance, cleaning and oiling purposes. The blade, guard, frame and pommel nut can disassemble in that order. There is a loosening tool, made out of Woolly Mammoth Tusk attached to the sheath for easy access to the internal workings of the knife. The tool fits into the pommel nut to loosen the knife. The pommel nut is also designed to break glass. The frame handle displays two "rustic" brown sections of a Woolly Mammoth Tusk from Alaska. It also features an inlaid red Garnet gemstone and the artist signature "T Dare." The intricate blade and handle also exhibit fused pieces of 24 karat Gold leafing. This amazing knife is accompanied by a handmade cow hide sheath, which also features a piece of inlaid Muonionalusta Meteorite. This is an incredible one-of-a-kind artisan knife which has been named "Solstice" by the artist.
    Overall Measurements: 11.81 x 1.97 x 0.54 inches (30.00 x 5.00 x 1.37 cm)

It would indeed have been much simpler to work with a local auction house, and we had local options. But we never once regretted going with Heritage.
