This is an amazing offering consisting of collector-grade Lazurite crystals perched on a Pyrite and marble matrix. The large crystal measures a stout 4.02 x 2.92 cm and contrasts beautifully against the stark white matrix. The crystals display nice dodecahedral form and breathtaking bright blue coloration for which they are known to exhibit. When viewed from the side and underneath, there are thick veins of Lazurite running in layers through the entire piece. The bottom of the aesthetic specimen has been cut flat to reveal the blue mineral further. This is an outstanding representation of the type from, not surprisingly, Afghanistan.
