    Gemstone: Turquoise - 39.90 Cts.
    Sleeping Beauty Peak
    Miami, Miami-Inspiration District
    Globe-Miami District, Gila Co.
    Arizona, USA

This highly collectible cabochon is coveted "Sleeping Beauty" Turquoise from the famous mine in Globe, Arizona of the same name. A defining characteristic of the sought-after material, from the esteemed locality, is the classic "robin's egg" blue color that is so popular among both collectors and jewelers alike. This impressive oval shaped, low-domed cabochon exhibits the classic look of material from the world-renowned mine with a beautiful teal blue hue with a slight ring of yellow visible. The "cab" exhibits an expert polish all the way around with a rounded girdle. The backside of the cabochon has a natural cavity vein attesting to its legitimacy. The iconic "Sleeping Beauty" is generally considered one of the most important American Turquoise mines in the world. The mine was one of the largest producers of Turquoise in the United States, if not the world, but closed in late 2012 having a noticeable impact in the Turquoise market. It is certainly significant that the "Sleeping Beauty" Mine is no longer producing. This American classic is in excellent condition and was most likely stabilized before it was cut into this attractive gemstone to prevent cracking. This stunning Turquoise cabochon is in excellent condition.
