Gemstone: Opal Parure - 62.52 TCW

This lovely offering is a precious Opal Parure from Ethiopia. The grouping consists of 28 smaller oval shaped cabochons and one large pear-shaped anchor cabochon. Each stone lights up with an intense play-of-color which is characteristic of the prized material. The small stones feature all colors of the visible spectrum, while the larger anchor stone has predominately blue, green and purple "fire" with flashes of yellow and red. The pattern resembles a broad flash on all 29 stones. The smaller Opals have a nice mix of white, clear and golden bodycolor creating a pleasing variation for this unmounted set. All of the stones feature a 360-degree polish, high domes, flat cut bottoms and rounded girdles; ideal for setting into jewelry. The pear-shaped cabochon weighs 12.91 carats and measures 21.33 x 15.77 x 8.20 mm. The backside does have an uneven cut, but this is inconsequential when set. The small ovals weigh roughly 1.30 carats each and measure 10.10 x 8.19 x 3.42 mm. Overall, this mesmerizing set is in excellent condition and begging to be made into jewelry.
    Total Carat Weight: 62.52
