    Gemstone: Opal - 32.30 Cts.

This ample Opal is an outstanding offering, with an undeniable play-of-color which is truly incredible. The large 32+ carat specimen exhibits a chic elongated oval shape. The cabochon has a high dome with an excellent polish all the way around, a flat base and a rounded girdle. The entire stone 'lights' up with intense "fire" and features both a broad flash and a honeycomb pattern on the front and reverse. A number of colors are present including red, blue, green, orange, purple and yellow. When the stone is rotated, strong flashes of pink and turquoise colors become evident. The color combinations are endless. The stone's dark bodycolor is due to a smoke treatment. This is common with Opals from Ethiopia to enhance the natural play-of-color and bring out brighter flashes of color. This is a large and vibrant gemstone for the variety in overall great condition. This gem really needs to be viewed in person to truly appreciate the intense coloration and patterns. The combination of size and color makes this a very special Opal.
    Measurements: 35.30 x 16.49 x 10.21 mm, 32.30 cts.
