This supremely cute fossil is a wonderful representation of Eurypterus, which was a "sea scorpion" that lived during the Silurian some 400 million years ago. The ancient "oar foot" had large paddles as shown in this fine example. The State Fossil of New York, this piece is nicely complete on a matrix with repairs.
