Massive and decorative describes this wonderful fossil gastropod in matrix. The giant white marine snail exhibits the classic spiral shape and rests gloriously on a rocky coquina. The shell alone measures a stout 19 inches (48 cm) in length and exhibits an artistic shape and form. This monster shell is fittingly termed Campanile giganteum with the species aptly identifying the size these creatures achieved. This variety of marine mollusk was exceptionally large - one of the biggest shelled gastropods to ever inhabit an ocean.
