    Description

    Fluorite
Minerva No. 1 Mine (Ozark-Mahoning No. 1 Mine)
    Ozark-Mahoning group, Cave-in-Rock
    Cave-in-Rock Sub-District, Hardin Co.
    Illinois, USA

Out of the prestigious "Ross C. Lillie Collection of Illinois Minerals" comes this 'museum quality' Fluorite with prominent phantoms of golden-yellow inside massive cubic crystals bordered in purple and blue. From the famed Minerva Mine, the specimen is a true Cave-in-Rock classic. The large cabinet example actually weighs a substantial 4.4 pounds (2 kg) and measures a full 6 inches (15 cm) across its beautiful face. The inherent depth of the piece adds to the visual charm of this highly aesthetic collectible specimen. An incredible Fluorite, on all counts, this mass of well-formed cubes features a myriad of rich colors, visually striking phantoms inside the major crystals and an excellent luster over the rather clear Fluorite cubes. A custom engraved acrylic display base accompanies the significant collector's piece for ultimate impact.
    Overall Measurements: 6.03 x 4.78 x 3.96 inches (15.31 x 12.15 x 10.07 cm)

    Provenance: Ross C. Lillie Collection

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
