    Description

    Fluorite
De'an fluorite mine, Wushan, De'an Co.
    Jiujiang, Jiangxi
    China

Classic, dramatic, and superb all define this major "Grape Jelly" Fluorite from the De'an Fluorite Mine. A cluster of reddish-purplish cuboctahedron crystals, several of which are quite large with the biggest well over 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter, rest majestically atop a sparkling drusy crystalline matrix replete with a snowy texture that exhibits both bluish-purple and whitish hues. A linear cascade of smaller crystals runs in parallel to the large grouping which are showcased by the beautiful matrix and positioning in the rock. Representing the style of the finds of the early 2000s in great form, this variety of Fluorite is often highly valued by collectors and coveted for its unique attributes. This is a relatively massive example with color to spare. The saturation of the roundish, cuboctahedron form looks unreal. The intensity of the shades of the stout crystals, and overall aesthetic appeal of the entire association, make this one major offering. No considerable visible damage is noticeable other than some very minor missing matrix near the edges.
    Measurements: 9.45 x 5.71 x 5.51 inches (24.00 x 14.50 x 14.00 cm)
