    Elbaite & Albite
Dara-i-Pech Pegmatite Field, Chapa Dara District, Kunar, Afghanistan

"A somewhat divergent of bicolor pink and green elbaite crystals growing up and out of a mound of white albite crystals. Got the specimen from George Holloway."
    - Rock H. Currier

A nice, classic example with all the bells & whistles: multiple, pastel crystals emerging from a matrix of colorless Albite blades. From the "country" that has humiliated countless invaders over the centuries: a lesson nobody seems to have learned. I guess somebody either can't, or won't, read:

"Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it".
    Overall Measurements: 3.3 x 2.2 x 1.8 inches (8.5 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm)
    Offered at no reserve

Provenance: Ex. George Holloway Collection [RHC #8258, acquired May 2013]
    MinID 788-FN3

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
