Here is an outstanding representation of Tourmaline from Afghanistan. This large bicolor crystal is perched next to a large Smoky Quartz crystals. The star of the show is obviously the well-formed nicely terminated crystal with a lovely purple-pink hue and a patch of light green near the top where the terminations fade back to pink. This "gemmy" crystal exhibits sharp faces and amazing luster. The Quartz has a well-formed terminated pyramidal point. The association makes a great example of the variety. There is an indication the Tourmaline crystal was attached to the Quartz crystal, and, therefore, is a repaired piece, but that would not detract from this truly amazing specimen.
