"Spiny" Phacops Trilobite

This spiny trilobite is a "wow" specimen if there ever was one. The Drotops phacopid is big and bold with exceptional spines all over its body. The monster ancient arthropod is massive and perfectly balanced as the gorgeous, yet ominous, black fossil sits centrally on a grayish matrix of an irregular similar oval form. This monster once roamed the ancient sea floor and, clearly, was a force to "be reckoned with," given all its armor and spiny defensive structures. The huge Drotops displays exquisitely, and should make a great addition to any fine fossil collection. The tactile glabella and visual centers are highly detailed and intact.
