    "Duck-Billed" Dinosaur Leg
    Parasaurolophus sp.
    Judith River Formation
    Montana, USA

The most obvious attribute of this fossil is its sheer size as the Dinosaur Leg stands 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The truly "Dino Sized" offering consists of 10 separate pieces, impeccably presented on a custom black metal armature which actually swivels. The mottled brownish bones, of which the elongate femur measures over 3 feet (.91 meters) in length. The associated appendage is from a "Duck-Billed" variety known as Parasaurolophus most recognizable by a pronounced curved crest protruding from its head. Out of the famous Judith River Formation of Montana, this massive example dating to the Cretaceous, when the "Terrible Lizards" reached their evolutionary peak, offers not only a singular specimen, with immense size and exceptional quality, but also effectively a collection of bones, in this gigantic limb of the major prehistoric creature. The quality of this fossil, representing extensive work as well as expert preparation of the bony material, is clear as this piece contains about 90 percent original bone. Some restoration was made to the shaft of the femur, and the proximal end of the tibia exhibits some crack fill. There is moderate restoration on two of the toes, and the ungual bones were all cast, as is typical with such examples. This is yet another museum quality specimen that is available for private display.
    Overall Measurements: 96.00 x 36.00 x 24.00 inches (243.84 x 91.44 x 60.96 cm)
