While slabbed and authenticated trading cards are not typically thought of with respect to auctions of Nature & Science, this 1990 Space Shots example featuring astronaut Commander Alan L. Bean surely fits in this catalog. The famed lunar module pilot was a native Texan by birth and worked on both the Apollo 12 and Skylab 3 space missions. Of particular note, Bean was the fourth person to walk on the Moon. This card #62 Alan L. Bean, authenticated by Beckett as an authentic autograph #0010401906, was signed by the American hero in blue ink. The card, in visibly good condition, exhibits yellowing of the white border and slight imperfections on the edges. The color card features a smiling Bean, in his spacesuit, with biographical information about him on the reverse, along with Space Trivia Challenge Number 006. This is a unique keepsake related to NASA of the legendary astronaut who died in 2018.
