Description
Francis Crick & James D. Watson Signed BooksFrancis Crick Signed First Edition - Life Itself: Its Origins and Nature
James D. Watson Signed - Genes, Girls, and Gamow
This Lot consists of two books, each signed by one member of the "dynamic duo" of James Watson and Francis Crick associated with the double-helix DNA molecule. The First Edition hardcover is Life Itself by Francis Crick which explores biology by addressing the very origins of life and mankind. The author even proposed an idea known as directed panspermia - a theory that life on Earth could have originated from seeds of DNA projected into the universe by an extraterrestrial civilization - also known as Crick Theory. The hardcover book is in reasonably good condition although the dust jacket does exhibit wear and tear.
The hardcover of Genes, Girls, and Gamow has the signature of James Watson as "Jim Watson" and is an intriguing follow up to his classic memoir The Double Helix that chronicles the aftermath of the discovery of the molecule that changed science forever. The book as well as the jack show some wear but are both in good condition. This Lot offers two books with two autographs from two heroes of science.
Life Itself - New York: Simon & Schuster, [1981], signed by Francis Crick on title page.
Genes, Girls and Gamow - New York: Alfred A. Knopf, [2002], signed by Jim Watson on title page.
