    Description

    Tourmaline, Clevelandite, Lepidolite and Muscovite
    Itinga, Jequitinhonha Valley
    Minas Gerais
    Brazil
    5.15 x 4 x 2.74 inches (13.09 x 10.18 x 6.98 cm)

No mineral variety tends to be more popular or in demand these days than Tourmaline. The assemblage from Brazil being discussed here features a large green Tourmaline crystal centered in the rock, as well as a few other smaller crystals scattered across the lively specimen that displays without need of a base or a stand. The piece is punctuated by shiny faces of Muscovite that collect and reflect light along with the occasional appearance of Cleavelandite and Lepidolite for good measure. The large Tourmaline shows a contact point vertically on the crystal face. This tremendously interesting piece is a veritable "stew" of these dynamic but peacefully coexisting minerals so often associated with the world's best Tourmalines.
