This is an extremely "gemmy" and somewhat hexagonal Ruby crystal from Burma. The color present on this singular crystal is a lustrous and bright purplish-pink hue. The "loose" crystal has a whole lot going for it, including its "organic" shape and large size. From Mogok, this is the "best of the best" in terms of material. The saturated example is relatively massive and is a superb representation for color, form and size. This is a higher-end specimen and weighs a stout 44 grams, or 220 carats, making it massive for its kind. This is a vitreous example with an amazing texture in addition to its other obvious attributes and a winner in terms of natural crystals. Ruby is one of the "Big Three" gemstones, and this is one big crystal.
