    TOURMALINE & QUARTZ
    Malkhan Pegmatite Field, Krasnyi Chikoy, Chitinskaya Oblast', Transbaikalia, Eastern-Siberian Region, Russia

    Here is a combination of a stout Tourmaline prism measuring 2.63 x 0.94 inches (6.7 cm x 2.4 cm) that is attached on the side of a sharp, partially included Smoky Quartz crystal, which shows bright luster and numerous subsurface "cloud" type inclusions. The back and edges of the Quartz show a certain amount of contact or extraction bruising. The Tourmaline shows variable luster ranging from waxy to glassy on the prism faces and brilliantly glassy on the terminal ones. Its color is of the classic Malkhan type, mixing various shades of medium pink with a slight touch of orange, resulting in a 'smoky cranberry' effect. The single Tourmaline prism is quite transparent and is in excellent to pristine condition.
    Overall measurements: 2.5 x 2.6 x 1.3 inches (6.3 x 6.7 x 3.2 cm)
