    Description

    Scheelite
    Red Pocket, Mt. Xuebaoding
    Pingwu, Mianyang, Sichuan
    China

From what is generally considered the top pocket for Scheelite in terms of the combination of color and luster from China, this specimen on matrix out of the "Red Pocket" is a stunner. The 'gemminess' of one massive crystal measuring 2 inches (5 cm) on edge rests atop a matrix of shiny Muscovite. There are not thought to be more than 20 good specimens from this pocket, and this is, clearly, a member of that club. An excellent example on all counts, this specimen has no repairs or restoration and is lustrous and vibrant. The renowned Mt. Xuebaoding Scheelites are iconic to this day. Presented on a custom engraved acrylic base, this superb mineral was once in the collection of Rick Beard and can definitely be considered rare.
    Measurements: 3.51 x 2.93 x 1.91 inches (8.91 x 7.43 x 4.86 cm)

    Provenance: Ex. Rick Beard Collection

    Estimate: $20,000 - up.
