    Native Silver
    Kongsberg Silver Mining District
    Svene, Flesberg
    Buskerud
    Norway
    2.37 x 1.62 x 1.02 inches (6.03 x 4.11 x 2.58 cm)

All classic locality mineral collectors will be familiar with the prized Native Silver specimens from the Kongsberg ("Kings Mountain") Silver Mining District of Norway. These "gold standard" specimens do have an additional tiered ranking based on rarity with simple masses being most common, wire types having more cachet and the most coveted exhibiting sharp crystals of Native Silver. This small mass is completely composed of sharp, cubic crystals. This is a rare and highly desirable specimen from a very highly regarded locality. The piece lacks matrix and is in pristine condition. This is one "wow" mineral which comes with a custom acrylic base for easy display. Every collector should have a piece of natural metal to round out any collection.

Provenance: Keith Proctor, ex. Phil Scalisi Collection [Hoppel #D2017]

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
