"A wonderfully sharp "flower" of marcasite that has been carefully worked out of matrix. Got this from Pierre Bariand, curator of the Sorbonne at Tucson one year in trade."
    Rock H. Currier

There's a couple of places on the planet where you used to be able to collect things like this, but recent restrictions on collecting around the world have seriously curtailed such activities. I'm not sure what Rock had to give in trade, but my money is on Pierre for getting as good as he gave; Pierre was no dummy. This is an exceedingly fine example of an increasingly rare type of Marcasite. It displays wonderfully from every angle, and it transforms as it is rotated, which is why the multiple images - they are all the same specimen!

It would indeed have been much simpler to work with a local auction house, and we had local options. But we never once regretted going with Heritage.
