    Description

    Azurite
Shilu Mine, Yangchun Co., Yangjiang Prefecture, Guangdong Province, China

Like dodos, passenger pigeons, and Tasmanian tigers; Shilu Azurites once were everywhere in Chinese dealer inventories ... and then the supply dried up. Collected in the 1990s, when they were plentiful, this "floater" group involves a pair of Azurite crystal balls joined like Siamese Twins. Shilu material is lighter in color than most Azurite, allowing the viewer to appreciate what "azure blue" really means. Hiding in its recesses are some very small flecks of bright green Malachite. The specimen condition is pristine and luster is actually glassy.
    Overall Measurements: 3.7 x 2.4 x 1.5 inches (9.4 x 6.0 x 3.8 cm)

Provenance: Ex. Dr. Raul & Helen Madrid Collection, ex. Dr. Marcus Johnston Collection

In my estimation Taylor exemplified professionalism and in that respect clearly added value to Heritage Auctions as their representative.
