From one of the earlier finds of the Milpillas mine hails this remarkable Azurite and Malachite combination specimen, with such a gorgeous arrangement, that one would think an artist had assembled these crystals. The crown of this specimen consists of a rich, dramatic cluster of sharp Azurite crystals, forming as thick leaf-shaped crystals that taper into sharp edges. Many of these Azurites are also fairly textured, due to an aggregate-like growth on some of the faces. The luster is the best that you will see in Azurite: extremely shiny and reflective, which brightens the otherwise deeply colored crystals. The color is already a beautiful deep blue, but some backlighting will show you some of the brighter electric hues that you can see in high-quality Azurite. Below this is a deposit of velvety soft Malachite, in a nice emerald-green hue that compliments the Azurite wonderfully. Finally, these crystallizations all rest on the classic dark matrix of Milpillas, completing a truly perfect composition. This specimen comes with a custom milled acrylic base.
