    Azurite & Malachite
    Liufengshan Mine, Guichi District
    Chizhou Prefecture, Anhui Province

Any viewer of this bold specimen is immediately struck by the lustrous deep blue Azurite crystals displayed nicely on a "bed" of Malachite. These incredible crystals exhibit fantastically sharp faces and edges creating the most impactful luster. This plate is ideally balanced as it consists of almost half Azurite and half Malachite. The two minerals work so well with each other, and the Azurite crystals are quite sizeable with the larger ones measuring approximately 0.7 cm. This is uncommon as most Chinese Azurite specimens exhibit drusy, and not really defined, crystals such as in this example. There is even a nice fibrous "mushroom" shaped Malachite crystal for added effect. Overall, this colorful plate is highly aesthetic, nicely balanced and in pristine condition. A mineral specimen of this caliber is hard to beat.
    Overall Measurements: 3.71 x 3.09 x 1.43 inches (9.42 x 7.85 x 3.64 cm)

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
