Description
Azur-MalachiteTsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia
A striking large cabinet specimen from the legendary Tsumeb Mine, this piece features three deep blue Azurite crystals with sharply defined faces and subtle translucency along select edges-hallmarks of high-quality crystallization. The Azurite displays a rich, saturated color and natural luster, further enhanced by partial pseudomorphic replacement with velvety green Malachite. The dynamic interplay of color and texture-vivid blue juxtaposed with mossy green-reflects the secondary Copper mineralization for which Tsumeb is globally celebrated. Additional microcrystalline Azurite growths provide a layered, complex surface that rewards close study. Specimens from this locality are increasingly scarce on the market, and this example stands out for its crystal size, form, and classic mineral association.
