Lavaderos Mine, San Felipe Canyon, Aconchi, Mun. de Aconchi, Sonora, Mexico

"A cluster of light tan crystals to about an inch on limonite. It was in a flat of material that I bought from Susie Davis in Tucson with Dick Bideaux . We split the flat and I won the coin toss to pick first. I think that this specimen is the best one that was found mainly because of the two very large crystals on this specimen which none of the others had."
    - Rock H. Currier

Anglesite being a Really Rich ore mineral of Lead resulted in a tendency for it to be ground up and then smelted into big 'pigs' of metallic lead, that end up in batteries, wheel weights and the occasional bullet. Who knows how many fine, large crystal groups, like this one, suffered that unfortunate fate. We'll never know, but what is known is that there are damn few survivors, and they're all old. Kind of neat that Rock won the coin toss, and against Dick Bideaux at that!
