The Iraí region of southern Brazil is justifiably well-known for the beautiful Amethyst "flowers" that are unique to the area. On average, most of these "flowers" are no larger than 3-4 inches in diameter. This very fine specimen is extremely large at over 5 inches (13 cm). The "flower" has a dark, purplish center that fades out to colorless on the edge. The radiating Amethyst crystals range upwards to 1 inch long.
