    Description

    Native Copper & Cuprite
    Bisbee
    Cochise County
    Arizona, USA

This seriously huge Bisbee piece not only has the cachet of the famous locality as its origin but also a magnificent mottled texture with a range of crystal habits from very fine to rather substantial. This is massive on all counts spanning over 10 inches (25 cm) in length, as well as width and weighs a robust 16.5 pounds (7.5 kg). A gorgeous pelt of fibrous Copper carpets much of the substantial surface area which gives this decorative specimen such major visual appeal. The combination of immense size with classic locality results in a museum-quality specimen with a historic origin. In addition to being called The Grand Canyon State, Arizona is also known as The Copper State. Copper is still the most valuable and abundant metallic mineral produced in the state which accounts for two-thirds of US production.
    Overall Measurements: 10.63 x 10.24 x 2.36 inches (27.00 x 26.00 x 6.00 cm), weighs 7,484 grams

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
