    Description

    Rhodochrosite
    N'Chwaning Mines, Kuruman
    Kalahari manganese field, Northern Cape
    South Africa

This miniature Rhodochrosite presents with topnotch luster, form and color. The elegant cluster of crystals from South Africa is hard to beat. These well-formed crystals display amazing cherry-red color, "gemminess" and clarity. The large scalenohedral crystals have sharp terminations and an intense red hue due to a high concentration of Manganese inclusions. When this "flower" is flipped over, the backside is also appealing as the contact point is visible, and it becomes evident how this stunning piece grew. This is a world-class example from a very famous locality. There is evidence of contact points around the edges, but overall this specimen is in great condition, with only a few dings, it is well-balanced and highly aesthetic

Provenance: The Property from an East Coast Collection
